I'm looking for a blank for a retired fireman friend. I have in mind using a painted tube and drilled hole in a red/orange. The blank would be somewhat transparent and would include swirls of red, orange, yellow and a touch of white and or gray. I would like it to look like real fire as much as possible. I looked everywhere I know of including Exoticblanks and all of the usual suppliers. There was one on Exoticblanks but it is out of stock. I need it to be at least 3/4" square and 5 1/2" long. If you know where to get something like this, or if you can cast it PM me. Anyone, anyone, Bueller?
Thanks
WB

Try Brooks88, Jonathon. He does excellent work!

Thanks Bill, yeah I'd be happy to help. That might even be my blank you're referring to on exotics. I've got these 2 that could fit the bill. If they'll work for you let me know and I'll get it taken care of.

The right picture is excellent, who & where can I get a couple of these?

Does fishing with my custom hand made rod count?

Seriously the "Inferno" blank on the right in photos above is a dead ringer for a firefighter. It is my opinion you are not going to find a better one.

do you want resin casting blanks only?
wood also may contain swirls of red, orange and yellow.
for example, spalted malus after BLO vacuum impregnation.

Prefer resin over wood blanks, but if show me something in wood I'll look, you never know, I buy more blanks than I use.

OK, a report: I received the blanks from Brooks308 and they looked super right out of the box. I got 2 of each that he showed in this posting and yesterday I drilled and reverse painted (painted the hole drilled with flat black plastic model paint using a Q-tip and spray painted the tubes) and waited till today to turn them. I also cut the blanks at a 30deg angle and attached a piece of pure white acrylic seperated from the "fire" by a thin piece of aluminum. My plan is to apply a decal indicating a local fire department logo on the white but have not received approval to use it yet. The blanks turned easily kinda like a cross between acrylic acetate and acrelester. I sanded with 320 followed by all 9 Micro Mesh grades but have not polished with Novus yet. I will final polish after the decal is applied, sealed with CA and have re-assembled the kit (I'm using an upgraded cigar in gunmetal)..I turned one each or both blanks and they looks really cool. I like the blank on the right in Brooks post best and wonder if painting the hole and tube red would give it a more fire like look. I'll try that next. Thanks Brooks, good service and good product.

I am new to the forum and enjoy looking at the work of great craftsmen. Unfortunately, I don't have the talent to create these works of art. So, my question is where can I purchase a Statesman pen with the flames mentioned in the second link above.

Thank you

I'm just now seeing your post. If you haven't gotten any PMs, the answer is that just about any of these guys could make that for you... I'd be willing to do it, PM me and we can work out the details.
