If I number the blank sides 1-2-3-4, is it correct that the segmented material on sides 1 & 3 will be similar? I want to try a knot with say 1-3 at a 45 and 2-4 at a 60 degree cut.

Will look odd but hey nothing lost nothing gained. Go for it. Maybe you will start a new trend and design.
