Hello from the kingdom of Bahrain!!

Just thought all would be interested to know that I went to see the "Tree of Life" and found a nice size piece (enough for 4 pens at least) on the ground... And I will be bringing it back with me.

so far this place is pretty cool. The F1 race is tomorrow, so it's pretty crazy around here right now. The airport where I am working out of made all the military airplanes exit the flight line, as there are a TON of private jets out there right now. I'm not going to the race, but some of my friends are. I'm taking advantage of getting a single day off, and getting some sleep!

I should be home the end of may, so I'll post when I can get a pen of life made.

God Bless,
Dave

Wow Dave, I have a very close friend that was in the Navy in Bahrain back when Clinton severed the Navy in half, and he got pink-slipped while out in the 110* heat.

So you have some wood from the "tree of life"? Cool! Now, I would advise you, though, that if you run across the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, that you not mess with that one. I don't know about the wood, but the last time anyone messed with just the fruit from that tree, it kinda caused us all some problems, if you know what I mean!

Dave, if you have any specific prayer requests for you or for any of your fellow service men, please feel free to email me (click on my name "redfishsc" and use the email option). We greatly appreciate your service.

Enjoy your time there in Bahrain. From what I understand, they are a different breed of folks than you find elsewhere in the more hardcore middle-east (I've heard it referred to as "god's blind spot"). I also hear there's some good fishing there in the gulf.

Dave,
Second the statements above... thank you for your service.

I've heard that Bahrain is a pretty nice place.. I didn't get to go, but about 30 years back I worked for a company that coordinated trade shows all over the world... we did a heavy equipment show in Bahrain one year... I handled a lot of equipment into Bahrain and one of the up and coming young men in my company(He actually was the stepson of one of the owners) was assigned as a coordinator over there. He was in Bahrain for about a month and came home with quite a tan... but he loved it there.. said the people were great to work with.

Keep your head down and stay safe.
