ok, i got my pressure pot set up.....
when you degass PR, does it 'boil' over a lot. i have a couple of different sizes of mix cups....but sometimes i fill the small ones quite a bit and am wondering how much room would be needed to prevent the pr from overflowing

any ideas?

The PR does bubble vigorously and plenty of room is needed. I used two jars that just fit inside the tank side by side and they are almost as tall as the tank. I'm guessing they are close to 1.5 quarts each. I get them at the dollar store...they are more square than round. I put 12oz in each one and they do not bubble over. I would post a picture of the jars but I don't have any because I no longer degass with vacuum. The ultrasonic jewelery cleaner is easier, quicker, less of a hassle and works great...no pump to hook up, no guage to watch...I will not be using vacuum any more. But, the vacuum does work.
Do a good turn daily!

Hughbie,

The PR resin expands in volume about 15-20% or so. When I built my Vac Chamber, I used clear acrylic tube, for the sole purpose of being able to watch it. I have had a few overflows, especially late at night when my brains not working to great, and I fill the container to the brim. This pic a just a minute or two after I started pulling a vacuum. Thanks for the insight saturday at the turnathon, Don. I went to HF yesterday and was looking at the cleaner. I might have to give it a shot soon.
