Last year we had a great time, so let's put this on our calendars.

The Ohio Chapter will be hosting a Holiday Potluck on December 16, 2017 at my house:

3362 Foskett Rd
Medina, OH 44256

(This is very close to Interstate 71 and State Route 3)

2:00 PM - ?

This is open to all IAP members/family that are close by or wish to make a road trip.

I will provide a cauldron of "Texas Red Chili" and refreshments.

There will be no scheduled demo, although the shop will be open for use.

Optional: For those that want to participate - A PITH (Holiday Theme), for a pen, ornament, seasonal thingy...

Please respond in this thread if there is a chance you may attend
(we all understand weather and "life" may have different plans for us).

To any and all above!

All are welcome.

House is "kid friendly," shop is open, and conversation is "non-controversial!" Let's have a great meeting!.

Looks like I'm good. PRI is the weekend before. So i'll plan on making the trek!! And I plan on bringing a bottle or two of Ky's Finest :)

I heard there will be a road block at the state lines. They're supposedly checking for rednecks. So I'll try to be on meet behavior when I come up

I have confidence in the state border patrol Ernie... You'll be fine!:biggrin::biggrin: (If not - send the Hooch ahead!!)

As of 11/18/2017 we have about 18 folks coming!

Room for more is easy... I'm thinking Texas Red Chili, and Jamaican Meat Patties (Empanadas). Plenty of sides, as well as chilled beverages.

One guarantee... The conversation will surpass the food! Shaking hands is awesome!

Jamaican Meat Patties!!!! Man, we are getting fancy :) Is Robin going to play Bartender for everyone :)

Mark, I'd really like to come up and see you Buckeyes. Perhaps I can sneak across the border with Ernie. Put me down for right now as a possible. I don't know of any scheduling conflicts at this point but my memory is not good as it once was. Thanks.

Ken, I always have room for 1 more!! But we have to wear camo when crossing the border :) I usually tell them i'm a hillbilly and they let me slide. It helps that I have banjo music blaring as I near the security checkpoint

Hi Ken, If it fits your schedule - great, and there is a room for you to stay in! And, we can brain storm on getting a new chapter started!

Just a few days away for some Jamaican Meat Patties, Smokin Hot Chili, Iap Trailmix and some of the best stories you've ever heard :) I'll also be bringing a pen for the Xmas pen exchange :) Assuming there is one!!

Ken, are you gonna make the trek up? That will double the hillbilly count!!

40 Jamaican Meat Patties done... In the freezer, will get baked during the gathering. Hot sauce and Sour Cream as desired. Maybe some Smoked Paprika...

Starting the 2-day Chili prep! (Roasting the peppers tonight, I make the chili powder from scratch - no commercial chili powder for this crowd!) Using Guajillo, Arbol, and Ancho peppers. Bake till brittle, grind in a coffee grinder, enjoy the aroma - it will linger for 2-3 days!

Trail Mix: Done... Slowly getting eaten!

Jamaician Meat Patties: Done - got about 40.

Texas Red Chili: Done - got about 2 gallons... Nice easy burn now, can be easily adjusted .

Snowfall is mostly done. 6" in the driveway, all plowed. should be a nice day!

Some ebonite blanks to play with, food in abundance, good conversation, rooms ava for overnight stays!

Time for a party!

It looks like I'm going to have to change my status to no show. Perhaps I can visit your group after the first of the year. Merry Christmas to all.

To all those who wanted to partake - Fear not, there will another next year!

We still had 13 folks and it was a fun afternoon.

A few more pictures:

1. The Ruler of the house got the best seat next to the fire place.
2. The cauldron of Texas Red.
3. Some of the victals.
4. - 6. Good conversation and company.

Thanks for having me! I had a great time. But that drive through Ohio is brutal. Flat and boring!! I ended up just shy of 700 miles round trip. I'll see most of you at MPG.

And that cigar replica Dale made is awesome!!
