Do any of you know if you print a water slide decal on an inkjet and cast it in PR or Alumilite if the ink will run.?????????:confused:

I do it all the time.

Couple pointers:
1. Let the decal dry completely (24 hours minimum)
2. After it drys, seal it with some type of sealer. Most places sell it. I have also used Lacquer as a sealant.

If you follow the first two pointers, you should have no problems with it running.

Good Luck....time is your friend here and use it well.
 
I use inkjet printers on my peel and stick labels with no problems. I don't see how labels and decals could be much different...but they may be. I haven't done decals.

I seal with CA or catalyzed polyresin and allow a day or so for the CA to outgas or the resin to cure. Also, no problem with the ink running from the CA or polyresin. I do allow the ink to dry overnight prior to proceeding.

Alumalite is not a good choice for casting "on tube" casts such as labels and snakeskins.

Do a good turn daily!
