DEAR SANTA CONTEST WINNERS!

Well, the judging is done, and the judges survived! There were some close votes, since we had some great entries. They chose a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, and even offered up an honorable mention:

First Place â€" Wood-of-1kind
Second Place â€" DocStram
Third Place â€" Fiferb

The judges also wanted to award this next entry a prize, even though it scared them a bit while viewing it:

Honorable Mention â€" Chuck Key, for the Gimme, Gimme, Gimme sing along video!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Now that the Dear Santa Contest is officially over, I think the letter writers should know that I have been carefully monitoring this thread. Some of you may be wondering how I could have found the time to read all of the letters ... with this being my "busy season". However, Santa, as you know, likes to keep close tabs on such contests. One can never anticipate when his name will be defamed, besmirched, sullied, or ridiculed. Some of you penturners have certainly enjoyed having fun at my expense.

I would like to share with you my observations of the winning letter writers:

Being a card carrying member of the Sons of Italy, I found Wood-of-1kind's letter to be quite interesting. I have contacted the Italian Anti-Defamation League and court papers are being prepared at this very moment. We'll soon find out how much little Peter's penblanks are worth.

As for DocStram's appeal to humanity ..... let's just say that I am shocked by the treatment he has been receiving in IAP.

The third place winner, FiferB ..... also raised my brow. He thinks it's funny that Christmas could be canceled? Hah! Wait until he finds out Sandy returned that new Vega Bowl Lathe he has been wanting.

And finally, that leaves me with little Chuck Key. While watching his video, one word came to mind ... hospitalization!

I'm looking forward to the Name the Reindeer contest!
 
Congrats to the winners, and a good job to the judges. I still think of Poor little "Vito" throughout each day and it brings a smile to my face. that letter will be a memory of this christmas for the rest of my life. To everyone, thanks for the entertainment.
 
Thank you for all of the congratulatory telegrams, emails, and phone calls. The phone has been ringing off the hook ever since the New York Times printed the results of the contest!

There were so many hilarious letters, poems and, of course, THE video! Wood-of-1kind's letter deserves to be in the IAP Hall of Fame. I could just hear my Italian grandfather as I read it. Also, congratulations to Bruce for his shocking letter. Finally, a special thanks to the judges for their hard work. [:D]
