<start rant>
You know those springs that come in the baron and sedona roller ball kits? Well, I hate the damn things. They can put all those parts in those little bags, why can't they stick those springs in a bag. luckily after looking for a half hour I found the spring. Grrrrrrr

Steve,

That is a very valid point. I've been on the floor myself.[xx(][:)]

No I assemble kits on a towel and nothing bounces/rolls away.

You've just sent me wondering where I can find one of those letter openers with the razor blade...maybe that will make opening bags easier.........should I wake up LOML and ask her...it's only 1:30 AM[:D]

Another suggestion - next time you're out, stop at the $1 store and pick up a few click pens. Those springs come in handy.

I collect springs from other pens... Figure someday come in handy. I used lots of those tiny parts bags to keep samples of different wood dust. You know, may need to patch something... After several hundred, I figured enough, even for a certified pack rat.

So, now I use scissors. I use a piece of non-skid mat (Big Roll from Costco $9.00) and open the big bag and snip the tiny bags. Then I check parts.

Well, this all started when I didn't think of the spring when I opened the bag. Being still new at this I haven't embedded in my brain that the spring is in the bag. It didn't cross my mind till I was assembling it after I was finished. At that point I thought "Where the hell is that damn spring". And this being my second rollerball of this design, it really didn't cross my mind to wrangle the spring. I think from now on, I will reuse some of those mini bags to coral those springs before I take the kit into my shop.
