I had a whole day to spend in the shop and I got stuck working of business and personal taxes instead. We finaly get a warmer day so I don't freeze. And it's all the IRSs fault. As I said, damn IRS.:D

Just be glad you don't have to deal with the actual systems and any and all problems that come with it. I've only had 7 Conference calls today and sent 40+ emails since 8AM.

Kol Tov,

LOL, I had a sister-in-law that worked for them in Seattle. So no offense ment for the workers themselves. Just against the system itself. And the system is pretty offensive. [:D][:D]

I looked at the Fair Tax book and it seems to me to be another one of those "This is how we should do it" books. But I'm not going to get into it.

Travis,
You will find out in a couple years when you start working what the IRS is, what Social Security is, Medicare is, plus whatever state and/or local taxes are. So you may be thinking you're earning one thing, and then when you see what was taken out, what that will leave you with. Just about enough money for a teenager to go on 1 date a week.

Kol Tov,

I worked on ships for twenty years and learned one thing early on " a bitching sailor is a happy sailor" I believe it applies to taxes also, we like to bitch about the IRS! it makes us happy! Don't spoil our fun with facts or alternatives it takes all the joy out of life[:p]

I guess at this point my only thought can be next time instead of looking at the book, read it. I do value your opinion. I truly believe that plan would be far better for all of us. I am not looking to pay less necessarirly just a simpler way to do it. The minor mistakes one might make are sometimes a financial distaster by the time the errant individual is notified. I personally have never been mistreated by the IRS, however they did scare Hell out of me a couple times. It's the endless year after year grind of filing and then waiting for my own money to be returned. If you think I'm a pain in the Butt here you should see the emails I send to our fine elected officials. I love this country and have supported it through war and peace. I just feel there are less complicated ways to each pay our fair share.

But then the accountants and lawyers wouldn't have enough to do. [:D] And remember the regulations and laws are primarily written by......lawyers. Therefor a simpler way will never happen unless larger changes happen first.
