I met with Lyle, Nick (our youngest turner), Don and Ron yesterday and we had lunch. Lyle sneaked and paid for the entire feast fast.
Nick, a cheerful and very active kid just lights up when talking about pens. He is a natural and has a very good eye for good blanks (wood or synthetic). He is a talent worth watching for. Here is the link to his Sierra
Before the meal, I had the opportunity to visit and meet Lyle's wonderful family.[^] Great kids, wonderful wife on an impressive house close to the equally cheerful in-laws, I don't think Lyle have anything else to wish for. [^] Lyle, is very humble and calm...it is almost contagious! Not sure if you folks can picture/understand it but he had that effect on me. He (and family) really made me feel at home.
I have a good collection of blanks but Lyle's made me drool. It is a collection of premium blanks galore. Those who saw my setup and commented how organized it is....Lyle's can make mine look like a mess LOL.
A tickler...I mentioned that I am due for another raffle and he donated some eye candies sure to delight the winner. I got away with some really premium blanks from him too [

Don is very generous with his casting tips...definitely a wealth of info worth picking. I got away with some super nice blanks from him too.
Ron, is a very active guy (almost hyper-active actually) LOL. I think there is never a dull moment when you are with him. Just stay sharp, since he will make comments out of the blue. He is a friend willing to help not waiting for any accolades. He helped me a few times off line...and most are unsolicited too.
I sure had a good time and honestly didn't expect this kind of treatment from these guys. They all went out of their way to make this work.
