Do any of you know where or if I can get plain center bands for Jr. Gentleman pens? I have a corporate deal where they want engraving on the band. Any help would be appreciated.

A couple years ago Jeff asked about Jr. CB's and in this thread I explained how I removed them........

It comes apart in three pieces and you don't have to use all of them. Unfortunately they're small so the engraving would have to be small also.
You could always remove the top one and the gold ring and make your own to fit back on the bottom part. Sorry, that's the best I can do, I don't know anyone who makes them.

Rick makes some jigs for the centerband removal from the Jr. Gents. I bought some from him and they are a great addition to your shop if you make a lot of this kit.

I don't know how it would look with the metal ends on the Jr. but maybe make your own center bands out of an acrylic that is of a color your client would like.

I also saw a post from someone on the forums that sells custom silver pen parts. Maybe they could make some for you.

lauren I would suggest you dissassemble the C/B and replace the top parts with brass bands. You should be able to make a taller brass band to give you enough area to engrave on. If you need a white metal aluminum or S/Steel could be used. It can be done on a regular lathe although a metal lathe would make it esier. How many do you need? There are several members here that would help you out if you need them made for you.

We have been removing the cband to this kit for quite some time into pieces and as a past engraver I can say that would be VERY difficult to put much onto. Not saying it couldn't be done but I would say that it probably wouldn't be WORTH it to most corporate clients since it wouldn't stand out in a way that someone could just pick it up and SEE it without really having to LOOK for it and at it to know what it was basically.

If you are going to do that I would be more inclined to look for something that is solid (removing the gold and putting the two pieces back together will leave a slice in the middle and while I don't know how that will affect the laser engraving - If it slips in anyway the engraving won't match) but about that same height as the overall piece would be in current form.
