They better work for a long time... Anything and everything gets cracked and hacked nowadays.
 
My thought also. Could be great if one is still knucklebustin so long as they're not gonna screw you with extra costs. Might keep an eye on this one.
 
When i was in new orleans for the Detroit game, one of the artists in the french qaurter had a small card reader attached to his cellphone and all he did was swipe the card and the reciept printed off a small printer next to him.
 
Over here, paying for something at some vending machines and also at some stores is just a matter of pointing you cell phone at the vending machine or register and pressing a few digits on the phone. The bank account is debited automatically at that point. I personally don't want to put my trust in that kind of a system but this has been going on for about 4 years. Mostly with young adults but it is making its way into middle age users.

While I first read about this in the spring of '06 and a few times since then, I had my first encounter to witness it a few weeks ago, and have seen it twice since.

Neet little adaptation.

The great part isnt the small reader, thats simple, its the software to convert it to audio and store it that way.

I am actually looking into making a simple line 2 card reader myself to store the transactions on when a wi-fi single isnt around at shows.

Cost would be between 25-55 to make. Then either us quickbooks for receipts or might write a small app to batch process later.

Hey, remember me when you build this thing. We clear our charges through our computer, at home, when we get home or to a Wireless spot.
