Couple More 10" Padauk Platters

These are the last two platters I will be making with this messy wood . Glad I only bought a short board and only have about a foot of it left.
Turned and finished these two this afternoon..
Both have a short padauk pedestal this time rather than maple like on the one I made yesterday .

Here is some fancy foot work (pun intended) to show how I turned the foot on the pedestals.
Sorry about the bright picture but I needed the flash on this one for it to show so the color is not as natural .

Thanks but I get very little lathe time because I spend too much time on this old computer but both are good hobbies :wink:
Only takes about an hour each to turn those platters.

I very seldom ever go into my shop in the mornings . Generally head to town in the mornings to socialize with a group of coffee addicts there :biggrin:
