As we travel the shows, I am frequently asked if I want corian. I have plenty.

However, at Amish Acres (Yes, I am just reviewing my "notes and orders" to get started producing), there was a gentleman who said he would ship out corian to anyone who wanted some, just for the shipping cost.

About a half dozen requests, just an entry to "bump" the thread. The gent said he had a couple tons, I don't think we have made a dent yet.
 
The corian on Saw Mill Creek is specifically for the Freedom Pen Project. Didn't see that disclaimer on the corian offered by Ed's contact. What sizes and colors are available Ed? I'd love to be able to get some larger slabs of it in 1/4" for some scroll saw projects.
 
As I am saying in my "follow-up' e-mail, I know nothing about what he has. Usually the guys who approach me make countertops or some breadboards and they have "cut-offs".

I don't want to put his e-mail address on the forum, in plain view, since he will probably get spammed repeatedly (Jeff has warned about this, in the past and while it is not a rule, seems like common courtesy to me.)

But, everyone who pms me asking for the info will get it, then ask the "corian guy" for more details.[:D][:D][:D][:D]
 
Has anybody heard back from the person with the corian? I havn't heard anything back from my email yet. I want to be sure that I got the address right. If you have heard back, can you PM me?
 
I tried writing him. But got emails back from both addresses as undeliverable.
 
Yep.. I just got an email back saying that "they have some scraps they could send me"... I replied with request for more information - how to pay, how much shipping will cost, etc.... Will update when I know more.
 
Since I know there is interest, I will see if I can find an additional source this weekend.

Sorry, this guy sounded enthusiastic - maybe I waited too long to look at my notes.

Will keep my ears open!!
 
I did finally get contacted by "Kathy" with the one address. Haven't heard anything since though......
 
thanks for the info - if you succeed, great. But I will be more receptive to these guys as I meet them, if I know some of you are interested!!
 
After much patience, I finally received a box (the large 8" flat rate box) of Corain slabs (larger pieces for scroll saw work). He only checks email about once a week or so, which made corresponding a bit slow. The box was shipped to me on the honor system as he doesn't have Paypal, and I've sent him a check to cover the cost of shipping, rounded up a bit.

Thanks for providing the contact Ed, much appreciated! If anyone you meet is willing to part with 1/4" slabs of Corian for shipping, let me know as that is the size I need. I have plenty of the 1/2" stuff now.

Glad you were successful.

However, I don't KNOW of any 1/4" corian. Everything I see at the shows is either 1/2 or glued up to bigger sizes.

Thanks for reporting on receiving, tho'. My faith in crafters is once again restored.
 
I also got my box of corian Ed. Was going to post to let you know, but I couldn't find the thread. Nice crammed full box of corian.
 
If people are looking for 1/4" solid surface material, I have a manufacturer I have bought several pieces from. I bought a piece that was 4'X10' and he gave me some small pieces along with it. There are several colors available. I think it was around $3.00 a square foot. If interested I can check back with him and possibly get s/h costs.
