Congratulations on a well deserved win! My dad sent it to me this morning. Very impressive and good to see if complete.

Thank you everyone! I didn't even know anyone from here was there or otherwise anyone followed this sort of stuff to even know. I was actually a little surprised that I pulled that one off. Winning Best of Show is not a huge shocker, but the Peoples Choice is a big surprise. Although I have taken both several times, that is tough to do, especially with a piece like this because it was one of the smaller entries at the show and the subject matter is not the most popular. Most people that do these shows are older and are more interested in wild life than they are in flowers. Judges judge on quality and technique and the public generally judges on what what visually appeals to them, so to get votes from the judges and the public is a challenge.
 
Jeff, while I do not indulge in this type of wood working I am in awe of your piece. Judging from your 'little helper' and who is your inspiration in the winning piece, I can only imagine what your future pieces will be like.

Congratulations are definitely in order to you and your 'helper!.' Good job! :biggrin:
