Hello wood-ite's!

I will be spending about a week in Columbia, NJ.

I'll be there from March 28 -- April 2, 2007

Is there any turner's there? I sure would like to get some indiginous wood from there.

Is there any wood treasure spots near there?

Thanks!

Bob

Unfortunately, I am going to Germany on the 30., if not we could have met.
There is not too much indigenous woods to NJ. But you might pick-up some antler from fresh roadkill - I call NJ to roadkill state.

There is a Woodcraft store in Allentown, PA, which is not too far away. For turners, David Ellsworth in Quakertown as well as Bill Grumbine (I think in Kutztown) are also very close.
If you never been in the area, I would spend a day or two in NYC.

Thank you for the answer.

TGI Fridays is actually not too bad - when I came over 11 years ago and we stayed in a sublet apartment until we could move into our first house, we use the "Happy Hour" at TGI where we lived very often to avoid cooking on our own. They had some good free food and the drinks were also very cheap for some hours on weekdays afternoons.
If you go to the city and like to eat at a very good deli and a NY institution, you should go to Katz' deli on Houston Street, I give you the link to their website here:

Enjoy!!
