Got my set of 6 PearlEx and 11 colors from Dharma today.
My gallon of Silmar41 should be here tomorrow.

Now I'm looking at the mica from Coastal Scents. I can get a teaspoon sized variety of 14 for $12 or 1 oz variety for $52. How far will a teaspoon of mica go?

the sample baggies are good for several blanks each. I use a 9oz mold and can get about 3 castings each. It's always good to buy the samples if you are trying out colors but go for the 1oz of your primary colors especially white and black

Don`t do it!!! ....Don`t do it!!!! you will become a casting addict.
I used my first gallon in a week> last week, and that was stretching it out so I had some to last me for my new addiction.
If you buy $50.00 worth from Coastal Scents you get free shipping, and you know you are going to be getting more colors anyhoo. So you can get like 10- 1oz. colors for 50 bucks.

smell

I'm having fun but the smell permeates the house. (Basement shop)
I moved it all outside but the smell is still there.
I think I'm gonna have to make a deal with my wife and only pour once a month.

I am lucky when it comes to casting since my wife helps with mine. What I did to help with some of the smell is put everything on a cart then mix it all up outside and put it in the pressure pot and bring it back in. When the pressure pot is done cooking I take it outside to release the pressure. It doesn't eliminate all of the smell but it does for a large part of it. Not sure what I am going to do this winter though.

I promised her I would only pour one weekend a month.

I took everything outside except for the sonic cleaner. And I run the air cleaner all the time in the shop with the door to the outside open while casting.

I may even set up a table to keep the sonic cleaner and the toaster oven outside, too.

I love PR, but in the colder months only work with Alumilite because of the terrible odor of the PR. I wish someone could come up with an odorless PR!! They'd get rich quick.
