I am trying my first casting using Alumilte. I understand that you shouldn't use liquid colorants. What dry pigments work best and where can you get them?
There is nothing wrong with liquid colorants as long as they are the right colorants. The dyes that Alumilite sells are liquid and very concentrated. I would recommend that you get some of them. You can get them at Hobby Lobby if you have one of those in your area or order them from Alumilite. Other liquid colorants can be used as well to varying degrees of success as long as the colorant does not contain ANY water.
Thanks for the info. I have been using Mixol in my PR castings, so I will give them a try though I couldn't find any info on their website that indicated if they were waterbased or not.
