I am looking for a list of places that can be found for colored veneers that are excellent to work with being they are good quality and color is true through the entire piece. I have found a place that sells tulip woods but it is in the UK and am sure the price would be high to ship. I was looking for .6mm or 1/42" veneers. Like to find vibrant colors.

With that said and being specific, maybe just list places where good quality colored veneers can be found. I am not looking for wood veneers for covering. I want these for segmenting. Etsy has a few colors but if someone knows an Etsy site I will check it out. Any help would be appreciated. I am planning my return to pen making and other small turnings this winter so gathering nuts for the winter like a squirrel. :) Thanks

You might want to check out Sauders and sons. They are a NC company and sell colored and natural veneers. I've seen the colors in person, on the corporate packaging for and they look to be all dyed and rich colored. Here is a link to them.

As an aside, they supply woodcraft and rockler, as well as many smaller wood suppliers. If you order direct you can expect great customer service. When I went the owner took me on a tour of their facility.

I do not like it if I have to call to make an order. Woodcraft and Rockler are always too high in price. They want you to pay for their advertising.

I just placed an order with B&B Rare Woods. Did not have all I wanted but it is a start. very good pricing and discounts with larger orders plus free shipping. Can not beat that. Will see what I get.

I also did place an order with USA Knifemaker to try some vulcanized paper stuff that I think Ken uses for segmenting. Good to have different materials. I will always have the plastic sheets. Have a ton of them as well as metals. I think I will order some brass because I never tried that in segmenting and maybe some copper sheets too. Why not add to the stash of supplies that I have now. Watch out economy, I am on a spending spree.

I have bought from https://www.cwp-usa.com/collections/dyed-veneer-sheets they make spectraply. Another person in my club recommended https://www.roarockit.com/veneer-1/ Both are a 1/16 I know they are a little thicker then you wanted. I have ordered black and white from B & B rare woods but they also have colors I think this would be the thinner sizes.
I have bought alot of spectraply from CWP. I bought 3/4" sheets of different colors which they made up for me. I use for various things such as these baskets.

I think you'll like the vulcanized paper. I have been intending on ordering some vaneer from here, but haven't yet. It is kind of pricey.

Not really 6 X11 sheet $4 is not bad at all. Thanks for the link. I will be ordering some from there soon. .03" = .762mm A little thicker than what I had planned but can use for other segmenting. This one should be added to Waynes list.

While you are here and seen this, question for you. When you glue the Vulcanized stuff, what adhesive are you using for both wood and acrylics? Thanks.

I just placed an order with Prather and when buy in bulk price drops to $2.50 a sheet. That is great. I went the thinner stuff for now. Thanks again.

I have used both Titebond translucent and CA, both have worked and I've had no failures. I have been using that fiber paper for 3 or 4 years now. I have not used it with acrylics. Also it gets way more vibrant when you turn and finish it.

Thanks. The titebond was going to be my first try because I am thinking a few wood blanks first. Will build back up to acrylics with metals. Little out of practice these days. Took all summer off to work on the house.
