Lemon yellow sign paint, or any bright yellow enamel paint, about a 1/2 oz per 8 oz resin mix. If you can find some cheap bright yellow nail polish that should also work, use the whole bottle in an 8 oz casting and it will be seriously yellow.

Thanks, Gerry, I will give that a try. It is for a custom blank for a client. BTW, I have been to your town, originally from Owensboro, Ky. Were once neighbors.

Ditto on what Gerry said!!! But if you can't find those and happen to have a local Hobby Lobby or Michaels etc. look in their casting section for this...

Gives a nice bright opaque yellow, though a little on the pricey side at $4-$6.00/btl

Only takes about 4 drops per oz.

That looks great but the Michael's near me only carries the three little bottles that remain tranparent after hardening. I did fid the bright yellow enamel paint at Michael's and will check that. Will have to look at Hobby Lobby, There are several here in Houston. Thanks all!! It will be used in a custom fishing reel seat I am making for a rod maker in my area.

I like the oil base paint at ace hardware...I buy the little tiny cans, i think it's a pint size..$3.99 ea. You get a lot of blanks out of a pint. I find if I go with the quart size..quantity wise it is even cheaper, but because you open and close the can a million times, you end up with a layer of hard paint on top and eventually the can and the paint is trash before it's all used up. You need about 2 nice scoops of oil paint with a Popsicle stick for every 4 ounces of resin.

so can you use the oil based paint in pr and alumilite?? and is it just as good as mixol or alumilite colors???
