I have recently started really studying the plastic blank color combinations. It seems to me, after pouring almost my entire first gallon of equal two color combos, that the really cool blanks are very lopsided when it comes to color amounts. It seems there is always quite a bit of one color, and just a little bit of another color or two. I have a pour right now in the oven that i have started experimenting with this phenomenom, and plan to do another pour even more lopsided. We will see what happens.

Are you pouring and putting in the oven to cure??
Remember, the flash point of the fumes is around 88* depending on manufacturer.

Oh no. I am putting the blanks in the pressure pot for 45 minutes, then in a toaster over that uses bulbs to heat up. they stay at 150 for 45 more minutes, then they sit at least overnight.

Since starting this thread, i finished off my first gallon of PR and ordered my second gallon yesterday, allthough the order wont go in till Monday morning.

I poured some three and four color combos, and the colors did some really interesting things in the mold. FUN FUN FUN! I guess every pour is an experiment of sorts. I never know exactly what i will get. Alot like wood i guess. Sometimes the ones that look the plainest will be going off on the inside!

I have found the same thing and I'm doing my two color pours with 8 oz. of one/3 oz. of another.Seems to be a nice ratio, but seems this casting thing is just endless really. So many thing to do,and so many not tried yet its fun.iI have yet to cast more then two colors. The hardest part is recording your formula and making time after time when you find something that is real nice.Victor

i must admit, i dont even write down any formulas (yet). I don't really plan to sell my blanks without being wrapped around a pen, and i think that just about anything you do will work for somebody out there.

Here is an interesting color combo:

dark blue
copper
white
gold

Here again, i dont remember the actual mica color names and all that, but those 4 colors together look pretty slick.

When i do a 4 color pour, i mix equal amount of all 4 colors, and then put varying amounts of each color in each of the three blank mold cavs. I also like to pour all four colors at once (with help of course). the colors bounce off of each other as they pour and create some really neat patterns. I first noticed it in my bottle stopper blanks, which i have poured all the same.

I can't wait till my next gallon gets here. I am getting the itch already!
