Why is it that coffee mugs always seem to be designed for left-handed people?

That is, whenever I buy a mug with a logo (like my 'Leif Landed First - Columbus Used Viking Maps' mug), the logo always is invisible to others when I am holding it to drink...

Seems to defeat the purpose of the mug, unless it's just held on a shelf...

You should know what's on the mug. It's designed for everyone else to see as you are drinking your dark, strong smelling liquid.

This is interesting. I have been wondering the same thing with my mug. BUT I'M RIGHT HANDED. Must have been a left-handed work during that shift?:confused::confused:

My partner imprints mugs that we sell at shows and this is always a bone of contention between us.

I say the great image should be facing out from the user, she says it should be the opposite. The debate goes on, year after year so when I make up inventory, I do em both ways. Let the customer decide!

I know it's a radical thought, but even if you are RIGHT-handed,:rolleyes::rolleyes:you CAN lift and drink from a cup with your LEFT hand:eek::eek::eek:. This way you can not only impress your friends with the LOGO:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:, but also have them marvel at your ambidexterous "athleticism"!!!:bananen_smilies051::bananen_smilies051:

(Insert "knock-me-over-with-a-feather" smilie!)

Even better question, if there is no logo do you know if it is a left handed or right handed mug?
You have to go by the lip prints in that case.
I guess it depends on who you bought the mug for and who you care is seeing the Logo. Makes since to me that a person that wants a mug with a Logo, wants it because they like the Logo. Now what about all these poor news or talk show anchors that have to have that mug setting on there desk. Is it always setting backwards for them? Now we will have penturners around the globe closely scrutinizing the mugs on news desks.

That's just crazy-talk, Ed! :) I maintain my right to use my dominant hand to drink coffee!

Help, help! I'm being repressed!

By doing so, you will repress MY right to see the LOGO:biggrin: on YOUR coffee cup:eek::eek:. Having been so deprived,:mad: I could become depraved :mad:, resulting in physical damage to your dominant arm, rendering it temporarily non-dominant.

You had no idea what a rukus that coffee cup was going to cause, did you?

Gawd you lot are just so thick!!!!!! A mug MUST be left handed so that you can 'dunk the bickie' with your right hand with more control!!!:biggrin:

Now a word of amazing sanity!!

The original IAP logo mug, which I received from Jeff some time ago and use daily, has the logo DIRECTLY ACROSS from the handle.

Once again, Jeff takes his place dead in the "middle of the road" in the "great left-hand, right-hand debate". Great planning, Jeff!!!!
