This year instead of spending many hundreds of dollars buying presents my wife decided we would turn all of our Christmas presents. We decided to give everyone a pen along with something else.
Before we started these we had only made a couple of pens each.
They are finished with CA and the timbers are as follows (from top to bottom):
Rimu, 2x Oak, Rosewood, Red Beech, Puriri, Walnut, Rosewood, Mulberry and Beech.
Thee were four more pens we made but gifted them before taking a photo of them.
We both enjoyed it despite being frustrating at times, especially when we broke through the CA finish a couple of times when learning.
My favourite is actually the Puriri cigar pen as it has quite a nice grain pattern on the opposite side of the clip where it looks like there was a twig growing out of the branch.
Comments welcome and Merry Christmas from New Zealand!
