i would not do the first one but the other two might be okay. I usually try to get the ones that are 1/2 to 1 inch in diameter if you are just doing pens. 3/4 to 1 inch is my prefered size. 1 1/2 to 2 inches for bottle stoppers.

Check out this one I use to used her, she treated me good. Contact her and tell her what you want tell her your making pens and as Ed said said 1/2"-3/4" is ideal.
