As you probably know, Chicago is where we did most of our shows.
I would go down there for meetings and help with coordinating, if there is an interested group.

are you moving to the Chicago area? We have a AAW chapter The Chicago Woodturners. We meet every 2nd Tuesday of the month. After 12 years at the same place we just moved last month. Check out the web site. It is a great club with several world known turners. Binh Pho, Steve Sinner and others.

I will be doing demonstrations at the Turn On Chicago symposioum in August. Both of my demos are on Friday and I'm scheduled to help in a freedom pen event on Friday evening. If a meeting can be scheduled for Sat or Sun (aug 21 or 22) I would love to attend. I will be staying over and leaving out on Monday.

Not sure about the Chi-town pen turners but most south of there are pretty much members of local AAW chapter woodturning clubs.

The group is not just a pen turners group. We are the group putting on the Turn On Chicago Symposium. Sorry if I made it sound differently. I will probably see you at the symposium though.
Let's start over. I am not aware of any only penturners group in the Chicago area.

No I am not planning a move at this time, I have taken over for RollerBob and am the Chapter Coordinator. I have received a request to help start a chapter in the Chicago area. Please remember that you don't have to choose one or the other group to belong to, both groups have their benefits.

I just live a couple hours southeast of Chicago . But the last time I was there , I was staying at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center . That was in '65 Wonderful memories !

It's a 3 hour trip for me, but might be able to attend a couple meetings. My daughter lives in Schaumburg, so could combine a visit with her too.

I can't find the time to make the 1 1/2 hour drive over to Indy let alone the 2 1/2 hours + going up north. If I come across anyone on the web from up that way I will point them in your direction.
