There is truly nothing like a well bookmatched quilted maple guitar top. Makes me drool every time. Unfortunately, the only way I'll ever get one, is if I make it myself. Problem is affording the maple to begin with. :)

That is truly a gorgeous piece of work. So you're making a hard-body electric strat style? Since you live in my area maybe we can look forward to seeing pictures at the next N. TX Chapter Meeting..... or maybe post pictures of your progress. I know I'm not the only guitar enthusiast around. Good Luck and keep us informed!

Jared. Did you know "Grizzly.com". has a lot of guitar stuff. I may be wrong, but I think the owner makes them. You might check out their sight. While you're on the sight, order yourself a catalog. Quite a company.
How's your schooling going? Not the girls---the book-learnin.

Lots of girls at my school. I'm passing every class except for algebra. I barely passed it.

I got the grizzly magazine but I'm ordering from http://www.stewmac.com/ I think you got me a little wrong Darley. I didn't make that one. That's too good of workmanship for me. I'm working on my own. I hope I can take it to our next Texas Chapter meeting,Terry. We'll see what you guys think of it.

Two thing I would have changed on this guitar. I would have hid the 5-way switch screws on top and I would have made cocobolo covers on the back. I would have made the tone and volume knobs chrome knobs instead of the standard vintage Strat style that he has on there.

I like it anyways. Sure would like to see and hold it in person!

Here are 6 of 10 of my ladies. The other 4 (2 strats a tele and another acoustic) are at the studio. I have a new Taylor incoming next month, too. Guitars are always coming and going but I love the sunburst Momose strat and my old trusty 62 reissue tobacco sunburst.
And...no...they aren't all backwards.

The Driskill is certainly finely crafted and finished but a little too much bling for me. Sometimes even my quilt top seems a bit too much.

my homemade guit

How about a homebrew amp-a firefly and a home made or bolted together telecaster. Made in Mexico body, warmoth neck, duncan pickups.

Google firefly amp-it is an all tube 2 watt amp that sounds great. You purchase the circuit board then source the components yourself. The chassis was not that much fun to drill and probably the hardest part of the project. Really wanting to build a Les Paul next.

Shark Guitar on Ebay.

Now this is really strange! Custom made, cool shape, and only $160? This guy don't know how to market his stuff. Looks like it would be a pain in the a** to make.:wink::frown::biggrin:

The rosewood fretboard alone is $130.
The pickups, bridge, and tuners are probably worth around $200.
I would put it on ebay for at least $450-$500. Or is that too much. Oh well,I'm not gonna buy it. Kinda cool though.
