Top this one
every Chevrolet convertible since 1912,,,,,

Wow! What do you suppose this collection is worth ?

This collection belongs to Dennis Albaugh in Ankeny, Iowa, just north of Des Moines .

The personal and private collection consists of 110 + Chevrolet convertibles... all years from
1912 to 1975 and Corvette convertibles from 1953 to 1975.

That is a Chevy convertible from every year of manufacture EXCEPT 1939...
The reason? - Chevy didn't make a convertible in '39 -- and ended its convertible line in '75!

His 'boy toys' include his own 18 hole golf course, copied somewhat after Augusta National.
He is what you call a REAL Chevy guy, but his passion seems to be convertibles !

This billionaire made his fortune selling farm chemicals !

And I thought it was impressive that I once own two Corvette convertibles.. a '64 and '65... not at the same time though.. the '65 replaced the '64 when it was stolen. Sold the '65 when I got married... should have kept the car... it would have lasted longer than the marriage did.

I ask myself....WHY???

I am not a Billionaire and probably never will be(check the signature block). I can think of many other things to spend that much money on(fishing).

Nice collection(as I head out into my Tucson), have a great day

Why not? This is his version of fishing.

My Mothers favorate car is the 75 Chevy Caprice Classic Convertible. I think that is the light blue car in the background of the last pic.

We had one for 8-10 years when I was a kid. In burnt orange.
My fav wouldn't be in there but its realy close. I would take the 63 SW coupe Vet over the convertible.

As for why. I agree why not. If you have the money spend it on what you like/love. I know I would waste it on worse things if i had it. Heck I dont have it and I waste it now. The Vets are always going up in value and bet most of those cars are.

Can you hook me up with him - perhaps he'll start collecting my pens....

I dunno.. there's a guy up the street from me who has a showroom like
this, only he's got things like Silver Shadows and Bentley's in it.
And he kicked OUT the workshop to put his cars in there. He spent
more having the floors resurfaced than most people spend on a house.

I thought he might like to collect pens, and I was right!
Unfortunately, he likes to collect free pens. He liked what I showed
him, just didn't want to pay for them. Wouldn't even swap for one of
the guns with his name on it.
