Cheap hollow MT#1 center for lamps at wood craft

That is what the hollow center if for? I have a MT2 with hollow center on my Jet, I never knew why it was hollow. It is a pain to knock it out when I want to put a drill chuck in its place.

Check your manual. If you are talking about the stock live center, it should self eject. No need to knock it out.
