In the past, I've had good results with a very black background using the online labels when casting using Silmar 41.
I received a new gallon of it several weeks ago and now it seems the black background which is black when I start turns to a dark green after being cast. I don't think anything else has changed. Still using the HP inks in my HP printer. Has anyone else experience this?

I have never used Silmar, but there are a few possibilities I know of which don't involve that part of the process.

1) HP might have changed the formulation of their inks.

2) The paper you printed onto might be different - did you use photo paper? Is it HP brand? (I once used Canon photo paper in an HP printer and the colors were different than when I used HP paper.)

3) Double-check your color printing settings. "Rich black" (all the inks piled on top of each other) is not the same as "Black" (the ink from the carbon black ink cartridge) and can take on a green hue.

Hope you're able to find the root cause and fix it.
