Central US gathering??

wasn't there a big yearly gathering around Illinois or Indiana some place coming up like April next year? my mom needs to know the date as she is coming with and needs to (in advance) plan her days off of work
i looked all around for over an hour and couldn't find anything

I'm almost positive it is in Champaign Illinois??????

The meeting will be April 17, at the Carpenter's Hall... Urbana, Ill
I will be looking forward to meeting you there... the gathering is in my wife's home town and where our grandkids live... so we will be there if the good Lord's willing and the creeks don't rise...

Don't tell that to the people that actually live in Central U.S.
 
Zander: If you have never been the The Midwest Penturners Gathering you will be in for a treat if you can make it in 2010. I have been this year and last year and they have very good demonstrations and a large amount of door prizes. There should also be some vendors with some deals and a great amount of eye candy. Anyone within a reasonable driving distance should make plans to attend, I know I will be marking it down on the calendar to be there, hope to see some of the rest of you there also.
 
Low key for sure!! We don't need any stinkin' pomp and circumstance!!!! With folks like low_48 prsenting awesome and hihly informative demonstrations as he does, it is no wonder this event rocks!!! Working on a couple things for this year that will help to make it better than last year's!! We had 7 or 8 (I don't recall which at the moment) states represented again last year with the long distance award going to the state of Washington. Rumor has it that there just well be a few international attendees in the house this year, sorta, but ya didn't hear that from me!!!!!!!

It's about 9 hours for us, but we have triple incentive for the trip... the MPG and GK (Grandkids)... plus the MPG date splits the dates of my wife's son and older daughter's birthdays..


And Terry's Jalapeno Poppers.... gotta play those up so he has to make them.. or embarrass him if he doesn't....:biggrin::biggrin:
 
sounds like its gonna be a blast.
so what do you all bring? is there something i can contribute? a pot luck dinner perhaps?
should i bring "show off" pens?
 
Of course Chuck, how could I have forgotten Terrance's Jalapeno Pepper Poppers. They alone are worth the price of admission, which in the past has only been the cost of a couple of pen blanks in order to put in the drawings. After having the poppers that Terrance had at the '09 MPG, my wife and I ordered the pepper coring tool and pepper holder for doing it ourselves on the grill here at home. Add in the 2000 or more pen blanks that low_48 will have there along with other vendors and the demonstrations and knowledge gathered from other penturners in attendance, you can understand why so many others like myself mark this meeting down on our calendars as a "Must Attend Event" every year. Cozzee and his family and helpers have put in many, many hours of work to make this the great event that it is and anyone attending will probably not be disappointed. Not sure, but Terrance my still have some of the videos for sale from the 2007 and 2008 event for sale.
