I am looking for some where to get a Cedar or Mesquite timber big enough for a mantle. I can Hune it myself or buy one ready to go, just needs to be reasonably priced since we are buying a bunch of stuff for our house.

Thanks

There is a company outside of Huntsville Tex called M & G Sawmill. They have a website and have both Cedar and Mesquite rough mantle timbers. You might want to check them out!

Kirby,

If you can make it to San Marcos and can help you with either mesquite or cedar. I have a sawmill and quite a few logs of mesquite or cedar. I would do it REAL cheap, maybe even free if you help with the milling. I mill only for fun and do not charge fellow woodworkers to mill for them for their own use. The only thing I might charge you for is the log, depending on what you would need. Let me know if you are interested/willing to come to San Marcos.

Where are you located? If you're anywhere near Middle Georgia you can have all the cedar, magnolia, pecan, and yellow pine that you want. Just look for the trees that are down from our recent tornado.
