Yesterday morning, my wife realized that she hadn't returned the contract for an art fair and that the deadline was today. Since it was to be sent to a po box, she couldn't simply drive it to their office, so she called me asked me what she could do. Since I had previously had similar situations and been able to simply bring the stamped envelope to that specific post office, that's what I suggested that she do.

On my suggestion, she hopped in the car and drove twenty miles to the post office branch where the po box was located. She explained her issue to the clerk and was told that in order to ensure that it was received by today, it would cost $17. She groaned and forked over the money. The clerk gave her a form to fill out and, as my wife filled out the form, said "While your filling out that, I'll go put the letter in their po box."

Suggestion

Log on to www.usps.com.

Click on "Customer Service" and send them an email with that story. Be sure to include the zip code of the post office you used.

It would be interesting to see what kind of response you receive.

Gotta love the Post Office. every complains about their inefficiency, it sure sounds like they found an efficient way to relieve your wife of 16.58, but they did get the letter hand delivered. Now consider all the extra labor involved, based on that logic, you should charge at least 15.00 to put a pen in one of Mannies 79 cent cardboard boxes, plus the cost of the box, that way you can really make some good money on pens.
Steve are you doing the TACA show??

We'll be there. We are having a struggle getting ready for it, but we'll be there.
