Here is what I would like to do. I want to use some metal in some casting projects but I noticed it turns a slight color difference when it comes in contact with resins. So what I am thinking is coating it with a clear metal lacquer such as the stuff some use for their cartridge pens, and then cast this. My question is do you think I would get adhesion problems.??? Has anyone use this technique before??? I know people have used laquers on top of decals and then casted so I am thinking why not with what I want to try. Any thoughts???? Thanks.

Also what is some brands of metal lacquer that is clear???

I would think that if you rough it a bit with some fine grained sand paper, you should get some decent adhesion. You don't have to get crazy lines but just enough roughness to get good adhesion.

Give it a shot. Like you said, it works with decals......

Yes I think I am going to take a stab at it next time I do some of these metal blanks. I need to find a good lacquer and I am looking for suggestions.

You might check with scraps first. I think brass might require a different lacquer, but
it might also depend on the particular alloy, I don't know.
