answer to question one is "i don't know, maybe". You would have to degass the resin before mixing, mix carefully, pour carefully and make sure you have no air or moisture in your label.
Answer to question two is probably alumilite since it sets quicker so has less chance to soak through the label but if you are doing no pressure then you also have less time for the air introduced during stirring to degass out before the resin hardens so maybe PR would be be better.

Seriously, if you are not going to use pressure I would personally use PR because it can be vibrated after mixing to get the bubbles out better. Stick the mixed/poured resin on a scroll saw table or a dryer to shake it.
