I am new to the casting madness but have been bitten by the bug by trying some clearcast over labels. A quick question for the experienced casters, does it matter what type of plastic cup you use to mix your resin? Can I use the thin water cooler cups, as the resin will only be in them for a short while before going into the mould, or is there still a risk of reaction/melting even at such an early stage?

Thanks in advance

You can also use PETE recycle code 1. They work great and last a long time. I buy mine at Sam's Club in quantity.

I also use the paper non-waxed cups but can't find them in all sizes.

I found a great deal on amazon not too long ago. A pack of 100 1oz medicine cups for $2.50 or something like that w/ free shipping. Even leaving a small amount of resin in the cup, it never ate through it. That is the best deal I have found anywhere.

On that link if you look at the other sellers in the right side, you will see the one w/ free shipping.

Those look the business, very much what I was thinking in terms of cups.
