Casting Feathers

Today I attempted to cast some feathers with horrible results. I cant seem to find the proper way to attach the feathers to the barrel. Someone have suggested I use MOD Podge which completely ruined the look and texture of the feathers. Today I tried a spray adhesive which gave a really nice appearance, however as soon as I poured the Silmar 41 into the mold the feathers released from the tube and floated to the top.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a great tutorial on the subject. I have not attempted casting feathers, so I don't know how good this method it, but his blanks are beautiful.

I figured there was some good old fashion Fly Tying involved

I haven't tried to cast a blank with all feathers but I have cast some with one feather and a fly or coin. I use spray adhesive to glue the feather to the tube then elmers or white glue to seal the feather so it won't float when the pr is added.
