Here is what I am planning to do. Somebody tell me if I've got something wrong:rolleyes:. My Dad's family is having a reunion. I have been asked to turn a pen with some fabric in it that my great grandma knitted on or something. My plan is to glue fabric to tube. Wet with pr. Use 3/4 pvc for mold. Glue stopper on cap on bottom end. Hopefully this will keep tube centered? Insert tube with top end plugged. Pour in warmed and carefully stirred pr. Hopefully I won't introduce any air bubbles. Let cure and cut ends off and square. Turn and install on Sierra pen. Will this work or did I miss something? David

David,

I'm doing my first fabric casts this weekend too and I have so far glued the fabric to the tubes with Modge Podge. I made silicone some end plugs for the tubes and I'm hoping that they will work to keep them centered. I'm fixin to pour tomorrow night. I don't warm the PR though. I'll mix in the hardener very carefully then pour. I use vibration to force the bubbles up and out.
