Decided to use Casting Craft resin for a set of blanks. Knowing the age of the resin can be a crap shoot at Hobby Lobby, I went to Dick Blick. Opened the can to find this. Exchanged the can. Same thing. Don't think it's supposed to look like this. 😉

Buying from any place that does not move the product quickly can be a crap shoot. Polyester resin is pre-promoted which means a curing agent was been added at the time of packaging. The MEKP added by the end user jump starts the curing when the casting takes place.
being pre-promoted means it has started curing once the curing agent is added. Shelf life is reported by the manufacturer to be 6 months. I only purchase from suppliers who sell lots of resin which guarantees freshness.
 
Was hoping DB sells more. Wish they would date stamp. Don't normally use this type of resin. Just needed enough for 6 pens. Shipping is almost as much as the resin. Switched to an epoxy resin from Exotic Blanks.
 
Looks like the Amazing Clear Cast set up fine looking at the leftover in the mixing cup. Leaving the blanks in the pot 48hrs to be sure.
