Casting acrylic

Does anyone here know where I can get casting acrylic??
As well, does someone know if the techniques of casting acrylic are the same as casting poly resin??

My understanding is that it take special (read expensive) equipment to cast acylic and that it is a hazardous chemical so not really available to the home caster. I could be wrong but that is what I remember when I researched casting resin before choosing Alumilite.

I heard the same thing. "High" temps and "High" pressures that most of us don't know how to deal with. Just what I heard.
