Over the past year, I noticed that all my Woodcraft rollerball cartridges supplied in the kit have tended to 'dry' out in a week or so. Now, even if I was handwriting a great epic novel, that is a significant decrease in expected cartridge life.

Well, I normally buy bulk quantities and have them on hand for short turn-around on orders. I thought that maybe the South Texas heat out in the shop was contributing to the cartridge's premature demise, so I stopped by the local Woodcraft store yesterday afternoon and picked up a new rollerball kit and turned it last night (no sense wasting a kit just to test the cartridge). It was late when I finished, so I didn't test the cartridge last night. This morning, I tried writing some notes. I finished about 2 words before the cartridge died. Most annoying. I talked to several friends and they stated that they have experienced similar failures recently.

I've already called Woodcraft and they are graciously sending me some replacements without ANY hassle. Great customer service. But, I shouldn't have to do this is my point. While talking to the various customer and technical support folks at Woodcraft, they ALL said that they had not heard of this problem.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues?

If so, I encourage you to report the issue with Woodcraft or whomever supplied your kit.
