Anyone have an opinion on Carter guides for the Grizzly G0513X?

The stock guides are awful, and the lower guides are not usable for a 1/4" blade. Are the Carter guides $250 better?

We went with Carter on our Jet and it is like having a new saw. I have been able to re saw veneers so thin you can see through them. Of course that is with the stabilizer. The guides on the smaller blades allow us to almost use the band saw like a scroll saw on larger patterns.

I use them on my HF 14" and they really did make a big difference in performance . Look around for a better price though , $250 is about twice what I paid for them but that was over 10 years ago .

They are worth every penny! But, if you can't make that $200 -$300 investment immediately, a set of Cool blocks work well, too.

I'm ready to make the investment! The stock guides are so bad that I find reasons not to use the saw because it takes so long to change the blade and reset the guides.

I use them on my Rikon, but I only paid $75.00 from Carter at a Wood Show in Sacramento in the spring. They certainly made a difference in how my saw works. Less flexing of the blade and it runs cooler. Took a little bit to put them on, only because I had difficulty understanding the directions.

Jeff, I also have them and highly recommend them. Get the Delta Micro Adjust conversion package if it will fit your saw, it sure beats the heck out of using an allen wrench every time.
