Has anyone tried any of the KMS Tools pen kits? Their acrylic pen blanks? I see them in their local store, but have never tried them.

Here's their fountain pen for $4.95 -- how good could it be for that?

I guess the thing to do is buy one, and try it...

Thanks
Steve

I use them all the time and I buy all of my copper slims there to make bullet pens. Their acrylic blanks are good as well. Also Lee Valley carry's those blanks as well. The KMS ft/pen is a cheap model.

Hi Steve,

can't say that I've tried one these kits from KMS. What is a tool sales guy doing with FP kits? On the other hand, the price seems right for these.:)

FYI - I work at KMS - now's a decent month to try the kits anyway as shipping is free for web orders in August.

I work in the office, though, and I haven't ever turned a pen, but I'm signed up for the next course so I guess I'll know then if our kits are good =) they sure are popular though.

*Edit - I'll put in the fine print so you don't have to go to the link - orders over $50 and under 50 lbs*

And thanks for the kind words Maxwell & RJ, we are big on supporting the community =)

Oh dear, I hope I didn't give the impression in the OP that I'm questioning the overall quality of KMS...

I've been a constant customer since their store opened in Victoria a year or so ago. I'll bet I'm the first guy to read their on-line brochure each month. I've bought more stuff there, than I'll ever admit to my considerably better half.

Good folks in the Vic store (the only one I've seen), and good selection. That reminds me -- need to stop there on my way home tonight... :)

Man, I wish I had a store near me....I just buy from the flyer, and that costs me enough....it would be too much temptation otherwise. I bought my Supernova2 from Bob at KMS, and it's been non-stop into the vortex since then!

Welcome to the forum, Nathant...glad to have you aboard!

Steve,
Thanks for pointing these guys out, I'm always looking for Canadian Suppliers. It's not that I don't like the American Suppliers, I do, but I just don't like paying my government Taxes and Duties on items I in turn need to charge taxes on... Kinda seems like double dipping..
