Can't open some attachments in e-mails ???

Hello, I had a price list sent from the company with the pen kits from over seas but was unable to open it due to not having Microsoft Excel. My computer won't find a program to open it, and I no nothing about these darn computers any help would be great, Thanks, LandfillLumber

then after downloading it look for "Calc" same thing as excel
this is a free program, it does also come with a program like word.
in case someone may need a word program.
 
I second the recommendation for openoffice. One note though, it's huge. Don't expect to download quickly, even with a T1. Last I saw it was +200M. Free vs. $400, hmmm, free vs $400...which should I pick[?] [:eek:)]

I used openoffice to "open" the file and send it back to you..[:D] I use it all the time and works great. As mdburn_em said it is a large program but, free is good !!!!!
 
Mark i followed your link to gigasize but did not see anything i'm not real computer savy so please bear with me[:D] am i supposed to download something first? i would love to see this price list

I downloaded openoffice and 45 min. later it failed to install all the way and I guess I'll try again later. I hate these darn things, well I guess I really lov'em. It seemed that I froze up in the very last step when it was finishing??? Well I guess it was a long shot that I would even order from these guys anyways. The prices just seemed so good , but the prices are different (higher) then I seen others post on this site??? Big thanks to Malainse for sending me the email that I could read. Thanks all I'll post my next try at downloading openoffice wish me luck. LandfillLumber
 
Some basic questions. Are you using an Apple or a Windows computer? If Windows, what version? Also, what kind of internet service do you have. dial-up, cable, DSL? There could be some incompatibility issues involved.
 
My wife finally got it to work not sure how but after seeing the price list i'm not sure its that great of a savings unless your ordering 100 or more of several items. just my thoughts.[:)]
