I've got a few pieces of wood, but I'm too new at this to know what's what. Can somebody give me some idea of what they might be. I thought the second one might be walnut but it is alot lighter than the pieces I have and know are walnut. Any help would be appreciated.

Based on the earlier feedback I've uploaded some new photos. I am very bad with photography, but tried to get decent details. I've got snaps of each wood with and without flash.

Thanks
Ben

No offense intended, but I doubt the pics are good enough for anyone to ID them. The color is totally blown out, the flash washed everything out and the resolution's poor. If I had to take a wild guess I'd guess Leopardwood for the first (if the color was more accurate I may well take that back) and the second I have no guess. It looks gray to me, just can't get a read on the color.

Take them down to Rockler or Woodcraft, they'll know.

Good Luck,
Dale

Oh well. I'll take some new pictures in the morning and see if I can get better shots with color. I've already cut the wood into blanks but I'll take some pictures of the blanks.
