ive heard its necessary to have alumnite and pressure or even better vacume for WW casting, but is this true, or just ideal or what?
would just warmed PR and no pressure/vacume work?

Check out Don's no bubble casting in the library under no bubbles casting. It really worked well for me.

I personally have found that Alumilite works well with WW and it is the only resin I use with WW. I tried PR on several occassions with 0 success.

PR is not the resin to use for casting worthless wood. PR just does not seem to stick to the wood as well (if at all) as alumilite. PR and Alumilite both have their good qualities and worthless wood is not one of PR's good qualities.
Do a good turn daily!

PR tends to pull back when it cures
You can use PR with WW but you need to be mindful when drilling and turning.
Alumilite works way better with WW

Use PR for straight resin casting and encasing seems best

Vacuum is NOT better for WW casting. Pressure is what you need. You might get by with no pressure but you will not get good penetration into the smaller cracks.
