I was in Northern Maine for Labor day and picked up some wood called Moosebrush. I think it is high bush Cranberry, but not sure. It is hard and heavy with a deep Orange tint when fresh cut. Anyone know what it really is?

We have a shrub here in TN called a Barberry Bush.. it's full of pricklies, nice dark green small leaves and has a nice tiny little bluish/lavendar flower in the spring... when you cut it, it's almost a golden yellow inside..
