Where do you buy some of your pen supplies.. Mostly pens.. I have only found two places that actually sell them.. One is the rockler dealer in Pleasnt hill and the other is in Fresno.. Both are over an hour away from me.. I don't mind buying over the internet.. But I am fairly new and would like to look at different types of pens and pencils before I buy them.. Thanks

There are Woodcrafts in Sacramento, Dublin, San Carlos, Santa Rosa, and Stanton (closest to me in the south). There's another Rockler affiliate in Santa Maria (Central City Tool Supply) and the other real stores are in SoCal. That's about all I know of. We'll be moving soon to just south of Fresno so with the exception of trips to LA/Orange I'll be buying most supplies online. I pretty much do anyway.

Thanks.. I gave them a call.. He said he as a large selection.. They are only 64 miles from me.. The fresno place is 117 miles and the pleasant hill is 114 miles.. Thank you very much... Dan
 
Dan, while its kind of nice to "window-shop" before buying, even the well-stocked Woodcraft and Rockler stores have a very limited selection of pen styles to choose from, and are more expensive than almost any of the online sources. IMO your best bet is to look through the photo section here, pick out pen styles you are interested in, and order online. Alternatively, use the links on the home page to "shop" at favorite suppliers. The selection is MUCH better, and the cost much more reasonable. Good luck!
 
It's not quite the same as holding a real kit in your hand; but all of those guys will send you a free catalog if you request one from their web site. The Rockler catalog may not help you as last time I looked, they did not have pens in their paper catalog. Not to worry......they are a Berea reseller and Berea will send you their catalog. Order a catalog from Berea, CSUSA and PSI and you will have the pen kit situation pretty well covered. I also like to have a catalog from HUT as well. They are a Berea reseller; but they have some unique items that no one else has!!

Went into this store today.. Really nice people there and they had a large selection. Spent way to much money there.. Thanks for the info..
