I thought that I would get a new delivery of oil while it was still cheap (thinks it will kick off in Iran/syria soon) it was much cheaper than when I last got a delivery at around $1000 last time against $400 this time. BUT after it was delivered my plastic heating oil tank sprung a leak:eek: and we only found out in the morning, %^&* much panic..........TILL I ran into the workshop grabbed the CA We use to finish pens, its the thick stuff in a big container and squeezed with all my might into the crack in the oil tank and...... amazingly it stopped the leak! I was so relieved the crack was a thin line around 2 inches long and spraying a jet of oil around a 8- 12 inches out after the CA stopped the leak I cleaned the area with detergent and hot water dried it and stuck some sticky aluminium tape over the crack and CAed that into place as well. Come to think of it When I used to work in theater (not the entertainment kind but the blood and guts kind) we used used CA to close puncture wounds in lapro surgery
ALL I CAN SAY CA is AMAZING STUFF
Problem is I have now run out of CA !

Sorry to hear about loosing heating oil, Glad it was a fairly easy fix, I would check out a new oil tank though, if it's become brittle it may soon crack again, I'll keep me fingers crossed for you.
