CA & Baking Soda

Never tried it, but it makes sense. The Baking soda changes the ph of the CA, causing it to set. It basically works as an accelerator. I suppose if the level of the CA was below the surface, you could get a filling effect, by using several applications.

I don't think mixing the two and applying the combination would work. It would be set before you even got to apply it to the project.

I agree apply the ca and then sprinkle it on and if you could color the soda I wonder what that would look like?
 
When gluing wood to wood using CA lightly coat one piece of wood with baking soda, then glue the two pieces together and clamp for a few hours. Holds better than not using the baking soda. Works great for segmenting.
