Made some time this week to build this Dinning table.
Butternut-----7ft 6inchs long 40 inchs wide.
No finish yet just bare wood.
I have enough wood left to build a nice coffee table.

Chuck I was going for more of the Harvest table thought. They are 4x4's with the corners rounded. It's really rare that I build anything without useing a lathe somehow.

Gary,
Man, that's what I'd like to be doing right now (if I could stand for more than 20 minutes at a time). Nice work. I've got a bunch of butternut in my basement. I'm just waiting for something to make with it.

Bob I played around and tried a couple of different things with some scrape. What I am going with is a sanding sealer --two coats--then just a good clear Polly. I liked the results of a hand rubbed Antique Oil but I ain't got that much time to do a table.
Rob I traded pens for this wood about 6 months ago---another dealer wanted to know if I had any bargain pens to get rid of.
I sure cleaned out my old stock real quick. I really wanted to build a bed but there was not enough 8/4 materail.
I am saving up a big box of scrape that would make nice pen blanks.
I hope you get feeling better--- sometimes I forget how lucky I am just to be able to get out and work.
